Just a little more information to pass along.....This entire body of water is great to fish....

After turning off Rt9 there are a couple of side streets with boat ramps that can be fished very easy.......These areas are better fished with plugs then bait.

I would take a ride around the area and see just how many areas you can fish.....every deadend street can be fished......and its all the same body of water.

Take a ride......Find some new areas....Enjoy
The areas I fish are the ones you said where a wast of time

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

Stopped there today just to check it out. Nice ramp for those looking to launch. 25 ft max though. Tennis court, basketball and play ground for the kids.

Drove by there this morning. Gate was closed but no lock. Didn't see a sign stating hours either. ??

We were told that it will be open all the time.  Just to mention that they have been having problem with some of the kids so they might of closed the gate.

Went by this AM too and confirm a closed gate.  Looks like a great place.   As Dave said, there are lots of ramps on the dead ends to be fished as well.

I think they open the gates at 9am.  Last week they were closed at 845am, but then open a little while later when we went by.

Disclaimer - I know NADA about flounder fishing.

Along the bulkhead , it's fairly shallow.  Maybe 2-3ft deep for about 30-40ft out.  Then drops off pretty sharply into the channel.
I don't know how that plays into it, but just giving ya the lay of the land.

Just checked this Park out today, non-fishing outing while down in the Lacey area!  Very nice.  I am not sure how I missed this full Review by Paul and Dave, but wanted to see it first hand after Dave mentioned it a few weeks back.  Looks like a nice place to hit up with my kids and I am definitely going to give it a try.  Was there midday today and was not that busy.  Of course, came home to see about hours it is open and Googled it...first hit, NJSWF ;D clp!  Should have known better smk.

Does anyone know if this is 24/7 or have they had to institute locked hours at night?  Want to try for some weakfish at night here...

Hi All.

Wel we just got back from out first outing of the year, wew did not catch a thing but frost bite from the wind but Dave's (kayak1) suggestion was a great one.  The park is located in Ocean Township on Dock Ave.  The park has been open for just one year and I can see in the summer months this location will be a busy one.

Just look at and you can see why.  There is a huge parking lot with 3 handicapped slots and rest rooms that will make fishing there more comfortable.  It has a huge cleaning station with running water that I am sure will be used quite a bit during the summer months.  There is as basketball cort and a nice looking tennis court.

But one of the great things about this location is the ramp.  It is big and will handle boats up to 25'.  But the best thing it is a free ramp.  Let me repeat it is a free ramp.  Look at the pictures and you can see how clean it is, plus there is deep water to handle boats that size with no troubles.

My uncle and I were totally blown away at this place.  We were talking to one of Ocean Twp's. finest and he said it does get crowded but if you want big crabs this is the place to go.  And, Yes, it does get patrolled by twp police who do check legal limits and sizes.

AS far as putting in a kayak this spot if fantastic.  It is close to the Rt. 9 bridge and close to the mouth of the creek that opens up to the bay.

So if you are looking for a place that is easy access to fish this spot is right up there at the top.

There are no refreshments vendor yet but by the way the officer talked one will be there soon.

Enjoy the pictures and make this one a do visit spot.

Happy Catching

Paul

Looks great, live in Burlington, NJ; would appreciate driving directions to Sands Point Park, Forked River. Know how to get to RT9, The WAWA and Shop Rite.
