There have been some catches around.  Haven't seen anything from the crew here yet though.  Soon.....

Not for me yet.  Threw some plugs and jigs for a couple hours today at a local spot.

Although the thermometer in my car said 41, it felt more like the low teens with that east wind whipping off the water.  Froze by butt off!

Still good to get out though. TT^

We tried Oyster Creek but like Bob mentioned it was the wind chill that cut out fishing outing short today.  I have heard of 2 bass being caught so far this year ranging from 14+ to 18#.  The officer sort of let a fer thing leak and that was one of them.  Oyster Creek has been giving up a few more that no one has heard of.

right now only resident bass are just starting to be caught. As the temps rise these fish are starting to "wake up" after a long winters nap. they are hungry. Natural bait for this time of year is best on a hi-lo with a fish finder. look for shallow waters preferably in dark mud as these areas tend to warm up quicker. that's all I have...no spot burning here....sorry  ;D

I also have a couple friends who have been catching a few bass on there boats... Not worth going out there freezing though.

Hey guys!

  On the topic of this conversation... One of our deckhands.. Dan.. has been fishing all this week off his private dock in northern Barneget Bay. He's been catching little bass everyday on bloodworms, as well as tasty flounder that lived to see another day.. Here's a pic of him with his first keeper of the season. He's so proud. He should be.. He's got dinner, and I haven't even gotten a line wet this year! Almost... almost... TT^ Good job Dan! I'm jealous.
