5/8
We headed out Sunday morning in search of some more bass before one of the guys had to get to mother's day brunch.
Trolling Tony Maja spoons we quickly put three bass in the boat over 40 inches and pulled off three more. We fished for about two and a half hours before I had to get the guys back in to the dock.
5/9EPIC! I told my dad to stay down after mother's day dinner to fish this morning because it's been such high quality fish lately.
Well, it didn't take long for the first 42" bass to fall victim to a white tony maja spoon. We boxed it up so he could take home some bass and continued fishing.
By 7:45am we'd released 6 more fish!! Only one was under 41 inches, the other 5 were between 41 and 46 inches!! Keep in mind I only had one angler on the boat, we dropped off a couple more fish, part of double-headers, that were just waiting to be faught while i bumped the boat.
At 8:15 line starts peeling off one of our 400 Atlas'. I knew this fish was going to be dad's lifetime best and would probably decide to keep it. Well, it CRUSHED his previous best fish and was his first fish over 50. It ended up measuring 54.5 INCHES and weighed in at 54.5 POUNDS on Fishhead Greg's boga grip. Decided to head in at 8:45am.
