Phyllis Ann Barnegat Shake Down
« on: May 13, 2011, 04:38:22 PM »
Met Bucktail Bob at the boat this morning at 0600 for a little trip out front in search the the "active" bass bite.

Passed on the blues in the inlet and broke thru a slew of 7-8' chop getting out.. it was one of those "well there is no turning around now"

Was greeted to a 6 Foot swell once we got out front.

A lot of boats in the area.  made are way to the wheel looking for birds or marks.  Noda..

Set out the wire lines and trolled Maja's for most of the afternoon.. along with every boat in site..  Noda...

Headed back to the inlet around 1:30 to play pole bend with the blues..

Once again.. it was "yesterday"

This was really just a shake down in preparation for a 3 day marathon this coming Wed,Thur and Friday..  it always seems when I go out.. it was "yesterday" the bite was hot.  now with 3 straight days..  2 of those days will be "yesterdays"  ;D

Good try, as usual.  ;D

Did Bucktail bring a banana aboard again?  cfzd

No banana on board today Joe (I ate one before we left).  Maybe that was our problem - no bananas. :headscra:  Next time I will bring a whole bunch!   ;D

Nice to get out and back aboard the Phyllis Ann again.  No luck on the stripes today, but the blues are always fun. t^

Thanks Rod.  We'll get 'em next week!

Oh, and my apologies to Capt. Mike who I apparently (in his words) "ass dialed" at 6:30 this morning. fcp

First trip out with no alarms or red lights are  great trips. Now the second trip can be all about fish killing. ;D Good luck next week

Good outcome - coming back to the dock under own power - mine still on the bank - Marina still under construction. Am itching to get back but tied up here.
