Hit a norther Ocean Co back water spot last night around high tide. Tried this spot a few nights ago and heard lots of splashes, but couldnt make it happen. So I went out better equipped last night.
I figured the splashes were shad, so tried the sabiki. Bingo. Tried livelining the shad for some striped ones with no luck.
Trying for more shad the rig got broken off. So I tried a teaser rig with a hearing teaser and FinS on a jighead. Bang.....yellow eye! Turns out all that splashing and slurping was blues. For the next 4 hours it was all the blues my arms could handle. The bite constantly changed and I had to adapt, but most were on topwater.
Left em biting at 0230hrs.
