Headed out Saturday after 2 weeks of no fishing with my son and friend Kevin from Penn. for a day of fluking. Started out in SH channel and picked a few shorts. Headed over to Ambrose where we had action but all shorts. We did have some excitement when a thresher hit my son's rod and had the Calcutta 300 screaming after dumping 3/4 of the spool of 30lb braid; the fish jumped twice and rolled on the line and he was gone. We then headed over to drift some rough bottom where Kevin landed 9 seabass, 5 being nice keepers (16 to 18 inches) while my son and I continued to land more short fluke. Totals for the day; 31 short Fluke, 5 keeper sea bass and numerous, skates, smooth doggies and sea robins. Great day to be on the water and Kevin headed home with a nice bag of filets
