First charter since getting my gear fixed and wanted to give it a nice run to try it out so we headed south of the hook to 40-65 feet of water and started our drifts at first for seabass...great marks on the rough stuff only to find they were mostly shorts with a few blackfish thrown in the mix...the fluke were a mix of shorts and keepers to 22 inches. with the wind honking and the drift at 2.5 knots, i went inside to 25-30 feet and had all kinds of life...bluefish all over, big Dogs, and big Robins...stayed and played a bit for some fun then ran up to the bay and switched to fluke....put a nice catch together up there in the channels for the boys. everyone went home with some meat for the rice pilaf!
water temp outside 72.5...temp inside bay was 75.6 on the incoming. good to be back at it and boat running good!
open boat running this sunday morning for anyone interested!
