i'm looking for reports from the wrecks around the little egg area, the LE, GS north and south, AC, any of the smaller ones, etc. due to the gas prices i know trips out to the wrecks are becoming a bit more scarce along with reports for them, so any info would be great. thanks guys.

The Sea Bass bite on Garden State North, LE, and AC Reefs have all slowed down but if determined enough you can still put together a nice catch.

Fluking at mentioned reefs is getting better as the water warms up.

Also check for reports written by Miss Beach Haven, Capt. Dave and myself.

Tuckerton Fluke Fishing

Fishing in Great Bay today treated anglers very well. Had the full fleet of rental boats out today and most came back with fish. Some were right on the 18" mark while Orion Millar brought two beautiful 5.4 and 3.61 pound Fluke. Had a few ramp customers have a nice day with one guy bringing in a 5 and 7 lb. Fluke. All fish were caught in front of the Fish Factory and over by the Coast Guard Station.

As a side note. Heard from a friend that there is a huge sandbar spread across by the the inlet over by the Number 2/3 Buoy area in the channel. Please keep an eye out for this as he hit bottom quick and hard today as the tide was dropping. Don't know the exact location but it's in the vicinity mentioned above. Be aware over the upcoming holiday with all the boat traffic.

Thanks for the heads up.

I am sure there will be more that will run into that hazard this weekend.

thanks hotrod, any one else with some info or a better location would be a help seeing as that bob from towboat u.s. has seen my boat twice this year from mechanical failure and i don't want to see him for an un-grounding.

No problem t^

We usually have an open spot on the boat on Saturdays and Mondays. We do the reefs and deepwater Fluke fishing. Trips usually go no less than 10 hours, send me a pm if you'd like to come along.

Thats my boy on capt mikes home page wearing the yellow t-shirt. It was his 1st keeper and he's been fishing for a few years now. He thinks hes the fluke king now his picture is up on Mikes home page. He looked at the fluke in the cooler all the way home. When we got home he went to all the neighbors to show them his catch. Broke his heart when it was time to clean his catch up for dinner.

At 5:00 am today I met up with my friend Jerry to do a little back bay fishing.  The wind was blowing pretty good right from the start and only got worse as the day progressed.  Although reports of any decent weakfish catches have been few and far between, Jerry was hoping we could score a few today.

Although we gave it a really good try, we were unable to connect with any keeper weakies.  The best we could do was about an eight inch spike that I snagged in the belly with my bucktail. :-\  We did hook up with several short fluke though.  And Jerry was able to boat at least one nice keeper. t^

As I said before, the wind was a major factor today.  But, by making use of a drift sock and the trolling motor, Jerry did a great job of holding us on our spots so at least we had a shot! TT^

I'm sure we'll have better days. ;D

Hey all, first time on this site and it looks like it has a ton of good info and great folks on it sharing the news.  I won't lurk so I'll throw up my report from this past saturday, 12 July.  Seems like I've been the one boat not getting any keeper fluke (0 for 6 trips) so we tried the kingfish.  Put in about 4 hours of chumming near the clam stakes in Great Bay but only got one small king.  Loads of short flounder, dogfish, skates and sea robins though.  Has anyone done any good sharking in the bay or just outside?  We're not looking for anything special, just some toothy critters to fight and tag for another day.

Welcome Aboard Filthy13,

Glad to have you aboard.  We had a group out last Friday with no luck on the sharking.  We chummed the surf as well and nothing would take the bite.  The surf was loaded with jellies and I was told that they were spawning.  I had at least 15 on the line at one time and I think it was because of the braid because they were a booger getting off where as the guys using mono had no problem at all.  5hrug

I will be going out tonight to IBSP and trying plugs and see what happens.

Again welcome aboard.

Happy catching

Paul

Got'cha Sean...Getting ready to leave in a few minutes.  Looking forward to going back and fishing my way.  All artificial's tonight.  Got to stop over at Grumpys to pick up a new lure like the one that decided to escape from my arsenal.

Gents, took the wife and brother out this weekend sharking in the bay and had a great time.  Got 4 and broke off a fifth, and released all of them in good condition.  Nothing to brag about but all were nice, healthy 35-40 lb browns.  The wife got her first sharks ever so she was pretty stoked about that.  Only problem was that its been a while since I used my tagging stick and the thing broke when I tried to tag the first one.  Going to have to get a new one before next trip.  Anybody else do any good this weekend?
