Finally got out today. ;D  Fished Little Egg Reef. First drift 3 fluke, one keeper 19".  Not to shabby a start. Swell was a little large at first but flattened out nicely. Kille-Squid-Fluke Bale combo. Then my 11 year great nephew started to turn green so we ran next to beach and picked at little cocktail blues until he couldn’t take that any longer. All in all an enjoyable day.

Sounds like a nice trip on the water.  Tough on the little one getting sick out there...

Yea, it was his first time in the ocean so I didn't want to turn it into the most miserable day of his life. Hopefully he will want to try again.

Wreckfish,

I have been checking your lagoon, did you move your boat or just put in recently?

My search still continues.

Finally made a reef trip.....Little Egg Reef. Left the dock at sunrise and back having a Boddington and Cigar at noon. Over 30 fluke between the two of us. Five keepers all over 20 inches.

Wreckfish....I did see your boat in the lagoon. What are the cliff notes on why just putting in?

Nice job on the keepers Ron.  Cliff notes - I was under the weather and all my projects include the boat got backed up.  Going again Sunday.  Phil

Fished Little Egg Reef Sunday. Picked away on the shorts but handly any drift made things tough. At the end of the day found a nice spot loaded with loaded with C-Bass (not on the reef).  Going to try again on Friday, weather permitting.

Fished this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday as a tune-up for the upcoming Fluke-A-Thon.  Had about 75 Fluke over the three days and only three keepers, 19, 19 and 20 inchers. Not much of the tune up.  Caught Countless ¾ Lbs blues, Seabass and even a 3 ½ ft. small shark. I think it was an Atlantic Sharpnose shark by the white spots.  Not an expert, only going by some picture I saw.  Used the standards bait, Squid, Killies, Bluefish strips, Sea robin fillets. All produces about the same.  Fished the Red Tower, Little Egg and Garden State South Reef and some other fishy looking spots.
