With about a dozen people dead, I wouldn't exactly say it was more bark than bite.  But I know what you mean.  The shore definitely escaped with less damage than many were predicting. t^

Nice pics Frank.  Glad to see all the boats still afloat.  clp

Most of all, I'm happy to see the deck chairs made it through! rofla

Few limbs and trees down in Bridgewater. Lots of water. Power stayed on for me. Thankfully, not too bad considering what was predicted.

Few trees and tons of leaves down here in Clifton. Inch of water in the basement, just open the drain and out it goes.

My GF in Blairstown is not so lucky. She has about 3-4 feet of water in her street and the water is still rising there. She is 50 yrds or so away from the Paulinskill River so when it floods the whole town floods.. They are also worried about the dam in town breaking too.. we'll see!

Glad everyone is ok!

Steve

Hello every one! Well it seems irene didnt like my area to much   we had roads flooded up to 7 feet! deep.   we had many many trees fall and snap wires in half.....Numours  wires are broken  we dont have power and i heard its the sub station that got flooded....it takes weeks to fix that...we were told no power for at least a week..

My neighbors house was hit with a huge tree and tree limbs fell every where. there are no lights along hwy 36. and stores are open but no power in my area altho there are stores close that do have power.

We had a massive amount of rain that over whelmed the sewer systems.

We will be sticking it out for as long as needed...we have a grill to cook on,a cooler full of drinks and some food.

Im at the library now and i cant post pictures but i do have them and aS soon as i can ill post them. chrz

Any way be safe my friends and always remember it could of been WAY worse.

    Till next time your friend,

Renegade made it through okay along with all others in Bob's Bay Marina except for a some damage to canvas left on. We chose to strip her naked.

The heavy rain on Sat and Sun AM has a small river running through my basement and out through the garage into the driveway.
Not unusual for this much rain.

But the wind yesterday on the back end of this storm kicked our ass all day. Lucky no trees down just alot of branches and leaves.

But the power went out at 4 pm and is still out. rgmn

8.16" of rain here in Jefferson. Lost power at 5am switched to gen power till 5pm when it came back on. Spent the whole night in the basement picking up water, but saved everything. All of the neighbors who spent the night sleeping lost everything in the basement.
Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

Skip, a lot of the boats used the transient slips at the municipal marina to weather out the storm. The comm guy was probably there and was moving his boat back to his slip when you saw him. I saw a lot of the comms and charter boats that dock across from my marina tied up in the municipal marina Sunday. I guess they felt better secured there. First time I saw boats at the transient slips there.

Good to see you made out good with the storm.  t^

Hello again ..no i dont have power and i wont for a week or longer i am at my buddys house right now. Here is my experiance inside the storm.

Saturday at 11 pm power went out.The winds were inspeakable and the rain was intense, gallons a minute.Trees and power lines are down all over the place. The water rose and keep coming nothing was stopping it Nothing!!!

Around 3 am the tree next door came crashing down upon their house damage was severe inside with the rain. The transformer exploded next 2 our house and sent sparks all over.

around 5 am a gust blew through the "hood" and destroyed it with trees and limbs falling all over.

The picture of the boat is at my buddys mom house the boat was 4 houses down.

Well we wont have power for a week im living Amish kinda a slap of reality but were good got what we need to live.

Ever enough will be fishing the ocean tomarrow the 30th we will be in our spot we normally fish..........
