Beaching it in Brigantine 9/3/11 - 9/5/11
« on: September 05, 2011, 09:08:49 PM »
Spent the weekend in Brigantine hanging out with the Family and fishing for flatfish of course!  Saturday morning caught 40 shorts to 17" in the Absecon Inlet, most of the fish were 10 - 15" and I actually foul hooked the 17, go figure!  Back at it again Sunday and got two dozen more, all the same size.  This morning conditions changed and the bites were few and far between.  Had one keeper hooked, guestimate in the 24" range, and lost it trying to land it.  It was a case of shoulda, coulda, woulda.  All fish caught on chartreuse and/or white swimming mullets 4".  I usually use a 1/2 - 1.5oz bucktail and a floating jig 8-18" above it, depending on depth.  Forgot about the pics this time, there is always next weekend.

Aloha,
Kili

Keep it up Kili.  Look at it this way, this is just practice for when the big boys return from the north.

Happy Catching
