Every year, Nascar honors 9/11 victims and first responders at the race that coincides with the anniversary. Just found out this year Snooki - not a rescue worker, military person or family member - will represent the NY/NJ area on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. As a direct result of all the phone calls and emails sent "Snooki" has deferred her part in the ceremonies at the NASCAR Race  to the brother of a Firefighter killed on 9/11.

I also sent an email and was sent a rather rude response filled with false information.  Although, they did make the change in the end, so that is really all that matters!!

Rounding out the pre-race festivities announced last week, R. Lee Ermey "The Gunny" - a retired U.S. Marine and real-life Drill Instructor - will salute the troops by asking the drivers to start their engines and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi- a New Jersey resident and daughter of a volunteer New York fireman – will pay tribute to firefighters by passing the flag-waving duties to Frank Siller,
founder of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation whose brother, Stephen Siller, lost his life on September 11th, 2001.  Ermey and Polizzi are part of the Wonderful Pistachios advertising campaign.
