Salmon River and Lake Ontario 9/15 – 9/18
« on: September 19, 2011, 06:55:33 AM »
Headed up to the lake Wednesday after work arriving around midnight with Scott G and Hunter 2. Up at 4:30 and on the water in the rain by 6 to one of our spots. We fished the spot for about an hour with little life. So we started to look around and we found some fish. After a few fish in the box and a few break offs, the bite stopped and we headed in with a new spot to work later in the day. Back to the spot around 5pm to find high winds and rollers running up the river. The sun cam out, hail storm came thru along with a double rainbow. I can’t remember if we caught fish or not. I think the rainbow took us off our game. Cashin and Massbaster joined us around midnight that night. The rest is a blur due to the lack of sleep. What I do remember is we did put some fish in the box, we were able to get some smoked, had a bunch of laughs and a good time.
It seems we were there about a week early. Some kings around, Coho’s in the river one day and up and gone the next. We did get out for awhile on the lake for a troll out to 75 FOW without a touch. The fish are stacking up in front of the river and it’s going to be a good run of fish very soon.

I am sure the guys can add some things

Great time!  chrz

Thanks Guys  t^

Thanks again Rick for the trip,,  Good times were had by all,      The fishing was tough but will only get better. I got to see a skunk, a mouse and a Big bald eagle. Those salmon fight like freight trains and taste great too.   I loved watching Rick fight the 30lb Salmon on light tackle,, 14lb mono for 25 minutes.. It was very exciting.. Cant wait till the next trip.    Now its Striper Time!! chrz chrz
