Gulp and bait, perfect together.
« on: August 06, 2007, 04:35:49 PM »
Been using Gulp products since their release, heck, still have quite a few of their predassesor, Inshore Power Bait ;)

Usually just tip a bucktail with the Gulp swim mullet aka grub, but will say my last two trips recently, when adding a short strip of real squid, the catches were greatly improved.  Plain grub caught fish, but seemed to attract smaller fish.  Plain squid got hammered by seabass and "lost" quickly.

Both together produced much better results, a limit up to 6# and some seabass on one trip and some nice fluke in the 4-6# range topped off by an 8.5# flattie on another.

Seabass do bite the tails off these things rather quickly.  Did hear rumor of a 6" version coming out t^

Good info.  I've gotta try using gulp more often.

Works well with live killie and especially a live spearing along with it.

8.5# fish caught on 8/4/2007

Shirt would be cool TT^ Thanks!!!
Let me know what other info you need.

Been doing better with short strips actually.  Too long and they like to fold over on the bucktail.

Oh, someone confirmed, 6" Gulp swim mullets/grubs available.

Haven't seen it myself, but was told that they got it in a B&T around Pt. Pleasant.  Trying to track down the person to steal, I mean see a few of em ;)

The 4" just gets lost on a 3 or 4oz Spro.

Yeah, I saw this stuff.  Its like $35 for a large jar.  It seems like there are alot of bait in the container.  It looks like a good deal since you can put older ones in there.

i will not use the gulp chum.  I like using my grinder and making my own fresh chum, and the gulp can be rather expensive also.  I do like there products for fluke...  TOP NOTCH..

I "may" give the gulp chum a try. A bit expensive BUT the container is resealable, so can me used on more then 1 occasion.

U know I am a big gulp fan.
