10/8 barnegat inlet

got a late start this morning, son and I came out BI around 8:30am.  As soon as we made a left to ehad north some the Blues were jumping all over the place.  Huge schools of bait fish ( rainbow soemthing I think some one called them) just covered my Fishfinder.  The blues were just gorging themselves.  We dropped some live spot down to see if any bass were flollowing and we started using our Deadly Dicks to snatch up some blues.  That was what it was like for 4 starights hours.  More baitfish than you could imagine and the blues jumping and filling themselves.  We caught about 20 for the smoker, nice eating size.  To change things up we bottom fished with bloodworms and had non stop weakfisha ction for about two hours.  We were using kingfish rigs and we calues and weakies is like ught weakfish two at a time or one blue and one weakie almost non stop.  We each saved our one keepr, a 14 and a 14.5 weakie.  All this funa nd we never had to run more than 1/2 mile from the jetties of BI.  My son was beside himself.  No stripers but when your 14 catching non stop blues if unbeatable!!!

Isnt the BI buoy on the inside of the inlet.  It looks to me you were on the outside.

Pretty sure he was referring to the inlet itself, not the BI buoy.  BI = Barnegat Inlet.

Great trip!  Can't beat catching like that.

I heard the weakfishing has been great so far...not big, but lots of fish.  Of course, the one year I haven't gone out and targeted them fcp!  Now, hopefully they can grow larger and begin to recover.
