I replaced my trailer lights today with LED's,, They are not self grounding so I had to crimp on a ring terminal to the white wire and ground it to the mounting screw. I also had to reem out the hole for the marker lights alittle bit so the socket will seat properly. I sprayed the drilled hole with some galvanized zinc spray to seal it before mounting the new light. I used the existing wires because my trailers only 5 years old and they were in good shape. I also used heat shrink to cover all the butt splices and ring terminal connections. They look nice and no more rusty sockets to deal with. I stretched it to  a 3 beer job. chrz

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

It's funny, I had LED's on my old trailer and most of the LED's on both sides blew out over time after multiple dunks.  Now on my current trailer I have the old bulbs, have forgotten countless times to unplug before dunking, and they still shine bright.   ;D
