Fred, Prestolite and Oildyne use the same relay. Don't use Auto parts in the boat. The Merc # is 96158T. The aftermarket Arco # is SW58. Sierra is SIE 185817. I will have them in stock next Tues. $14.00 each if you need'em.

Matt:

I think that is where I will start. At that price I assume I should just replace both. Let me know when they come in. You have my email address.

Will do Fred. I'm replacing the 2 on my boat along with the slave solonoid and ignition switch just so I know its all new. Last year I did the starter and alternator.
And thanks for the offer of getting a group together for a FA/CPR course. Hopefully we can make it happen.

Another part that affects the trim ops is the trim senders and wiring on the side of the Gimbal Ring. Mine was shot so we just by-passed the sender wiring.
It might be that also now that I think of it. Those relays do fail but rarely in pairs. You can also swap relays with each other. There both the same.

Tell me more.... Is this a do it yourself fix? I don't know exactly where you are referencing (my first I/O). I get no sounds with the throttle trim button, only with the trailer button do I get a "click".

Thoughts?
