Sorry for the late report.
Fished out of Belmar last Wednesday. The fish seemed to be asleep early that morning and I couldn't even get a sniff for the first 1+ hour. It was one of those extremely painstaking bites where you knew there was life, but they wanted nothing more than to keep nosing and pushing the baits around. Scratch, gone, 3 minutes later scratch, gone. This would go on for 5-10 minutes with the same fish. Move the crab 1/2 an inch then they'd tap at it again. All we could do was hope for something to change..........
Then as the tide came on out of the north, so did the fishing with a fury. Fish put on their feeding bags and I easily boxed my limit by 11 and played C&R the rest of the day. The kid went up 3:0 before I boated my first. Then 4:1 and the ball busting started. I quickly put an end to that as I came back with a vengeance and put a whooping on him. Final tally- Dad 9 boxers to Ant's 5. Largest for us went about 5lbs while we had three more in that 3-5lb range.
Couldn't ask for a better December day and certainly couldn't ask for better company!!!
