18 pound Tog (picture added) UPDATE:
« on: February 05, 2012, 01:22:37 PM »
Details from uncle Luna later.

From a lot of search, I am almost positive this is the story.

Fish took a whole green crab on a single Gami 4/0 hook. Hit hard and tried to run back into the wreck for a second but he got a few cranks on it and it took off sideways pulling a 3/4 cranked drag like nothing. 30-50lb rated rod bent over and once landed weighed in at 18.3-lb, 30-1/8"long x 22" girth at Fisherman's Headquarters.

Caught it aboard the Searcher II with Capt. Wayne Eble. A lot of other anglers had big fish. Tog in the 5-8 pound range. Capt worked very hard keep us on big fish, congrats to him and the crew.

Entered in The Fisherman's Dream Boat Contest and also submitted it for the NJ Skillful Angler Award. Congrat's pop's on the fish of a lifetime.

My uncle sent this to me today.  He got it from his brother in law who is an avid fisherman out of Bayonne.  He has his North NJ connections.  Uncle Luna is at work  till about midnight.  I am sure, either later tonight or tomorrow morning, he will have more details.
Fish out of Toms River NJ.

Holy
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
