Welcome Aboard initial_reefer,

Don't worry about the grief thread, that is we way we are on here.  As you hopefully will find out.  I did not know your grandfather but I an sure your memories of him will last you a life time and we will get to know him through your insights into fishing that he taught you.

As far as fishing areas I am down in Toms River and fish pretty much the surf in and around Ocean County.  I have been at it for over 50 years in this area and it is truly home for me.

If you need any help with anything fishing just opst it up and the guys will be glad to help you out or if you have anything to add just jump right in as we love to hear new ideas or some old ones we forgot about.

Again, Welcome Aboard.

Happy Catching

Paul

Is Officer (retired) Bob Doan your uncle? Him and I were partners when I was on the job. He did mention that his dad was a rod builder, lived on Lalor St. I did have the pleasure of meeting him once, don't think he was still building rods at the time. Going back several years now.
Sorry to hear of his passing.

initial_reefer,

IBSP is my home fishing grounds as I only live a few minutes from the park.  I have a beach buggie and can be found some where with the posse that floats around the beaches all year.  As far as waders go, there are so many types and models that my suggestion would be to get the best and most comfortable ones you can afford.

I already have my sticker for this year and I am ready to hit the beach.  When you do go just drop a line on the site and if I am available maybe we could meet up and swap stories.

Happy Catching
