Sunday 4/15 Manasquan
« on: April 15, 2012, 07:52:48 PM »
Well, I made it down to the boat today with the wife and kids for a little river floundering. We were set, cooler, chum, etc. Well, apparently we got there at DEAD low tide and with the added wind it was even lower than normal. We were unable to to get out of the slip!!!   rgmn

We used the time to do some cleaning, finalize the positioning/sealing of the radar, and replaced a seat pedastal. In addition I notice my power steering resevoir was dry (it was "fixed" over the winter). I tracked down a cracked hose where it enters the steerins assist assembly. I managed to remove it so I can replace it and disconnected the pump belt until I can get it repaired.

I guess once again things happen for a reason. (A) I could've left in good water, not knowing how low the slip gets and been stranded waiting for in the incoming tide and not be here at work now (tell me how that would be bad?) (B) burned out my power steering pump or caused a fire from the fluid spraying from the crack.

One of these days something will go well!

Thanks! The good thing is I am starting to learn how to do some basic IO wrenching.....

Could be worse, I could've stayed home and away from the water.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

On a positive note I heard from marina today. They are going to move move me to a deeper slip. The woman who I spoke to was new and wasn't aware my slip is better served by an outboard vs IO.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

Welcome to the site! I am currently on D-33 which is about 3-4 spots from the back (E dock). I just moved up a slip but, if that's not great they're going to move me again to the 20's.

I'm from Bucks too. I live in Warminster. My name is Fred. PM and maybe we'll meet-up @ the MRC. I'm heading out Friday AM if you're down.
