4/20/12, Sandy Hook Striper Report
« on: April 20, 2012, 06:17:16 PM »
Fished with NJ Guy and Luna Sea and Amy had a great time. I will leave the details to Mike and Nick. Caught  stripers, 1 large bluefish and some of the biggest skates I ever saw. Had Nick fillet 2 of them for the wings, cooked them with garlic butter,Creole seasonings cherry  tomatoes  and lemon juice, they were delicious    chrzdoc

Beautiful day on the water.  I brought my numbers with me, so I knew we were going to catch fish.  Slow start until the tide changed, then it was hammer time for a few hours.  I got my limit with bonus tag.  We kept 6 Keepers to 33", 1 large Blue fish, some monster Rays, and released a bunch of short stripers.

Thanks Mike for the invite... It felt really good fishing at my old stomping grounds.

always willing to share my numbers.. NJguy has them.. just ask him..  Very difficult to fillet the Skate wings, but Uncle Luna cooked them up and he said they were great.  The Skates were huge, but you only get a small piece of meat from them.  It kinda seems like a waste killing a huge fish for such little meat.
