Luna Sea 4 report...
« on: May 13, 2012, 09:10:43 PM »
or lack of.  Met up with Uncle Luna at around noon.  Hit the water, from Toms River a little before 1.  Took that long, long ride to the Manasquan inlet and headed North.  We hit a wall of bunker.  We drifted for hours and all that time we saw a blanket of bunker.  I thought it would be a perfect day, but i was wrong.  Even though the fish finder was lit up the entire time, nothing touched the bunker.  I snagged and dropped, also snagged and hook up another rod without a touch, not even a bluefish.

Lessons learned...

#1, first time trying to find the Canal from TR and I missed it.. Drove 20 minutes out of the way.  That won't happen again.

#2, snagging bunker is a lot of work, and very tiring.  My arms still hurt.

#3,  took the 12' cast net out and made a perfect throw on top of a boat load of bunker.  On the retrieve, the line snaps at the swivel.  Bad luck.. I just ordered another one..

Now I am on strike 2 from trying to find the fish from Toms River.  Burning a ton of gas to get the skunk.  Usually I am out very early, but until my daughters softball is over, she comes first.  I have one strike left before I strike out.

It was a short weekend, so I didn't soak any crab nets this time.  Hopefully next week I will have a report on that.

I got a lot of vitamin D though.

Fish out of Toms River NJ.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
