Woke up still in a decent amount of pain, but substantially less than I've had over the week in my neck. Decided I needed some air and the Admiral grudgingly agreed to go down to the boat with me. It felt good to get some sun and salt air in my lungs and we motored out to the sailboats only to be greeted by a brutally stiff wind and a small chop. Decided I wasn't going to change putting my neck through a pounding so I cut it right there and took a couple fluke drifts nearby in about 15 feet of water. Nothing biting and 45 minutes later decided to call it. There were no fluke around and I wasn't about to hurt myself fighting the abundant bluefish all around. Gave Big Al a call and he met me back at the dock. Hung out over at his boat when his wife and Little Al and a friend stopped over. Had a few brews in the sun and called it a day around 3:30/4:00.
Felt good to be out at least, I've been managing my neck pain with the prescription anti inflammatory and Advil the last couple days which is a good sign. Typically in the past once the pain starts subsiding it usually will go away completely over time. Still have to get an MRI to make sure nothing new is going on and may still have to have the surgery, just hoping I can at least postpone until the winter. Fingers crossed.
