Freshwater fisherman goes to salt
« on: May 25, 2012, 02:34:29 PM »
Moved to Beach Haven West LBI 6 months ago,new to the forum and learning the ropes. Bought a 99 Searay for me and the wife(not really set up for fishing, but I'll make it), but fishing the bay for fluke or... Last weekend drifted and bounced squid and killies north part of Great Bay, and 10 minutes after drifting the channel, got too shallow, no fish. Any tips for the new guy; where to go and how to do it...

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

wa I dont know 'spots' down in LBI.... I would hit the ocean every chance I got though. Water may be to cold for that now... how ever sounded like you got off to a good start. Bacon and egg... may peeps use that... even a lil belly...Up here ( Central NJ Raritan Bay )  I fish right off the chnls... there are some clam beds too that ill drift acorss...some days its hit or miss. Alll the fishermen on here are helpful, and some quite funny. Youll like the site and all it offers. I am actually getting a later start then usual today. Was a lil foggy so I waitied and getting out now. Best thing is you got your family your health ad now your boat  clp clp Good luck fishing you 'new salt' and remember.... tight line and you can fish off of annnnnnny boat.  slt
