Tuna Tales Wednesday 05-30 Sharking 168 lb Mako!!

Darren ran my boat today for a shark trip with friends Joe, Rich and Steve.

Darren and I talked it over last night and decided a 5 am leave would be OK due to the bad T-storms last night and the Small Craft Warning posted until 5 am. Except for some rain the seas were great.

Darren ran to 67 degree waters set up and had two good bites that did not connect, a 150 lb blue shark and the last bite (which counted) was a 168 lb, 75" Mako.

It jumped when it first hit and took 40 mins to fly gaff it. Not a friendly Mako.

Great team work by all...

Mako steaks for grill tonight!
