Anyone have any suggestions about why my one moter won't go over 3500 rpm. I changed the plugs and I'm going to change/clean the screen in the vrst tank next. Does anyone else have this problem before?
I have the same motor. I am assuming you are running a 10 micron fuel/water separator from your tank first. If not, do so. If you are, when was the last time you changed it? VST filter should be changed at least every 2 years, every year if you go often. Same for the engine mounted filter. Also, have you changed out the low pressure fuel pumps recently?
Is the problem constant or intermittent? If it's intermittent it's possible the throttle position shift switch is sticking or shot. I have changed this on my engine so I can tell you how to do it if need be.
Bottom line though is your engine is absolutely dependent on clean fuel. You must keep the filters maintained on schedule.
