Re: Chance of Severe Weather Friday Night June 22, 2012
« Reply #29 on: June 22, 2012, 03:06:11 PM »
Quick Summary/Synopsis

Storms fired early and quickly today ahead of the approaching cold front.  Storms will continue to not only quickly fire and intensify, but squall lines and cells will move in from other areas as well into the night.  The greatest instability is in central and southern NJ, so as storms move into the area or fire in these areas they will rapidly intensify!  Storms will be strong to severe in nature with dangerous lightning, strong winds, hail at times and torrential rains.  Local flash flooding is a big hazard as well.  Never drive your vehicle through standing or moving water...Turn Around, Don't Drown.  These storms will be localized and not widespread for the duration of the day!

The rain and storms will move out over night and give way to mostly sunny skies in the morning and lower temperatures for a wonderful start to the weekend!

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.  Thanks to Paul for the call earlier!  Paul has a lot of weather knowledge as well and has the experience to go with it.

Be safe out there!
