Free shimano trinidad and torium drag upgrade

 I assume this relates to some of the older models.

 I just got off the phone with shimano, and was told the reel would have to be shipped back to shimano in cali and they would install it, if your reel doesn't already have it. Rep i talked to was unsure if my reel already had the better drags in it or not being purchased last year. But i do remember it saying 22lbs drag when i got it.   i may just send it in come the winter for servicing and see what happens.



 Shimano® is also offering a free drag system upgrade on Trinidad® 16N, 16, 20, 30 and Torium ® 16, 20 and 30 to anglers who need more drag range. Please contact customer service @ 1-877-577-0600.

That is for the older reels.  Your reel should already have the upgrades.  If you're looking to put in a better drag (not a bad idea since you're targeting tuna with it), the best thing to do is to throw away those crappy Dartanium washers and order some Carbontex replacement washers from SMOoOTH DRAG.

These are, without a doubt, the smoothest and best drag washers I have ever used.  I have them in many of my reels - from my little Curado 100 to my Trindad 40N.  Great stuff!

BTW Greg, if you're looking to beef up the anti-reverse on your Torium, let me know.  I can help you out with that too.
