Headed out at 8:30 after a long ride from Hunterdon County PA/NJ border, and hit the scotland grounds. first drop started with the sea biscuits, and keeper fluke, many shorts. Bite died down but the bunker schools were thick and had three whales and one good sized shark maybe 8 foot around the boat for a few hours(shark was there and gone). Moved over to a ledge I marked years ago a ways from the from the old FG buoy and started pounding ling, biggest one was 24".
Day ended in SH channel with a ton of just short fluke and two more keepers. Got back to Leonardo to a mess of undecisive people, so i jumped out ran to the truck and backed strait to the ramp from across the street, and puleed her out lickity split. Minutes later DEP pulls behind me in the road, and boards and checks everything, Fish, certificates, bait containers, flares, remarks on 35 empty beer cans! and says goodby! Very nice, professional young man, looked to be about 22, very courteous. Of course we are fully compliant as always!Days bounty: 4 keeper fluke 18-20", 12 sea bass from 15-17" and about 8 ling.
