Family Fluking: Point Pleasant 7/2/12
« on: July 03, 2012, 11:52:06 AM »
It was a beautiful day for my daughter's first ever ocean fishing trip.  My wife and my brother-in-law rounded out our crew.  Before we left the dock my brother-in-law told my daughter she was going to catch the first fluke on the boat.  Well, call him Nostradamus, because that was right on the money!  She started us off with a nice 12" fluke.  TT^

As far as the rest of the trip, we all had some action, although it was nothing spectacular.  My girl fished on and off, in between playing with a new friend she made on the boat.  They were going around checking on everyone's catches, touching dogfish, exploring the upper deck, and looking at the other boats and beach goers through the binoculars.

I had about a half dozen shorts and no keepers.  My brother-in-law had one keeper, but it was the right one.  It went a little over 3 lbs, and that was good enough to win the pool! clp

All in all, it was a great day on the water with the family!   t^

Doesn't get any better than that!  Great day, great report and great pics.  You accomplished your goals, "smooth seas, some action & lot of smiles!!"

Congrats to your brother inlaw on his pool fish.

That's what it's all about. You are living the dream in those pics. Can't wait until my little girl can come out on the boats with me
