Barnegat 7/10/2012
« on: July 10, 2012, 05:14:10 PM »
Fluke bite picked up considerable over last week. Only problem they are all shorts. A couple double hook ups too. 27 shorts all under 16. Bare hook with gulp and a teaser with gulp. I wish these fish would grow up!!  5hrug

Forget the gulp, switch to killies and squid then you'll be feeding them so they can grow, the gulp last's to long.

At least you had some action.

Keep on feeding them ;D

Inside or outside?

We trolled all over the ridges today looking for some bones but nothing happening. Ran back to the usual ocean haunts on the way in around 12ish for a drift and couldn't get a bite on bucktail and gulp with teasers.

Must have passed right by you. My nerves can't handle drifting in there though, have to be aware of your surroundings in there

I changed my rig slightly. I did away with the 3 way swivel and put a sinker slide in its place above the barrel swivel.

clp Shorts in the south 5hrug just keep feeding them by the time they get up north here they are legal. That's the truth as the boast from Manasquan and Shark River make a left hand turn coming out of the inlets head north young man and you will be rewared. chrz chrz

Not down this way.

I know a guy who heard from his friends brother (exagerating lol) that the draggers really worked our deep water spots down here. I believe it cause a couple drifts in the ridges and offshore lumps last week yielded little more than sea robins. Moved inshore with some fresh bunks and put a catch together. This past Tuesday same result minus the catch (ocean side at least)
