Had the Russ Hauptman Charter today. Started off with good drift conditions in the channels to give Russ's crew a chance to get used to our Shimano Stradic / Teramar outfits. Came away with some short action and one keeper. As we lost the tide, tried to hit the home run taking a long trip to one of our favorite summer spots for the first time. Caught the last of the tide there where we picked a few keepers and had good short action again. Hit a lull and worked spots in the area waiting for the tide to turn. Once we had conditions we picked some nice keepers with shorts and keeper Sea Bass in the mix. The guys fished hard all day and by days end the boxed 8 keeper Fluke to 24″, 10 Sea Bass, 2 ling and a cocktail blue and were rewarded with a nice mixed bag of filets. These spots will only get better, they are still filling in.
