I go to Surf City Bait and Tackle, same as what Hotrod said, really great knowledgeable people, and friendly as the day is long. Actually get most of my stuff there (yea its a little more than what it costs on line, but the mom and pop stores are where its at......I equate it to paying 20%more at a hardware store where they say "Hi Matt" when i walk thru the door, then when i walk into a Lowes and say "Hello?" just to hear my voice echo......lol

Thanks for the tip HotRod, gonna check out fishermans hq.

cool, staying right down the road from them.  appreciate it everyone.

mbailey, i know what ya mean about the ma and pa stores.  I have a hardware store by me called frenchtown hardware.  i walk in and hand them this random bolt that fell out of a piece of equipment, he picks it up looks at it walks to this old wooden shelving unit and comes back with the exact bolt...wait time about five seconds.  ya ain't getting that at the big box stores!!!!

Not to mention the heavenly smell inside that store thats been there since the turn of the century  t^ Cross between old wood, oil and metal......(they should make a cologne out of it)The guy behind the counter is so old, he was probably there when it was built  LOL

Good luck fishing this week sir!

I haven't been down there in a while, so I'm not sure who is working there now.  But, if the guy is kinda big and bald, it might be Bruce.  If it is, he owned that shop for about 25 years before he sold it in the late 90s.  The old name of that shop was Bruce & Pat's Bait and Tackle.

He had a hard time letting go when he sold it.  So it's possible he is working part time for the new owner.
