Still hanging in...
« on: July 23, 2012, 10:35:50 PM »
Hey everyone, been getting alot of PM's asking how I'm doing so I figured I'd put up an update.  I'm still recovering, still in a neck collar 24/7 which is no fun in these heat waves we've been having.  I'm also starting to look a bit like grizzly Adams seeing as I can't shave yet.  I get the brace off August 3rd finally and then begin PT.  I think I'm gonna have 2 weeks of mostly massage and electric stim, then I will have 2 more weeks of stretch/exercise therapy.  At that point I will be back at it.

The surgery did alleviate most of my symptoms.  I now have feeling in my left index and middle finger, and my muscles seem to be firing in my tricep, back and chest.  These are great signs.  I still have some pain and discomfort from the operation but it is getting better.

I've been constantly checking in here for reports and to see how everyone is doing.  Been enjoying the entertainment of the overbite threads and brown furry crabs too  >:D .

I think I will probably be boat ready for calm conditions sometime in the second half of August, and truly 100% by mid September. I am absolutely sure I'll be ready for the tuna trip!   TT^

Keep posting the reports and pics and tight lines to all of you!  Here's a couple pics for you.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Maybe a rough boat ride will straighten things out better than PT.  ;) ;D

You guys (and gal  ;) ) are funny.  I do think this neck collar would keep me floating for sure.  And sometimes I do think a good slam over a 5' chop wave would probably do me some good.

I did actually get down to see the boat this past weekend.  My godfather lost his dad recently and needed someone to talk to, so the Mrs gave me a ride down and he and I sat on the boat and shot the breeze for a while.  Was nice sitting on it but man I wanted to take it out so bad.  Ran the engine for a bit to top off both batteries and I had to use all my restraint to not throw the lines off and go.

Glad to hear you're on the mend!  t^ I know how you feel.. itching to get out on the water .. but you're wise to hold off and let things heal..you have a long, pain free fishing career ahead of you when you get this straight..  t^ And don't listen to them guys about the beard.. it's coming in fine.. almost as full as my late Aunt Helen's right before she passed, bless her heart...   chrz  chrz
