Ocean county 8/28
« on: August 28, 2012, 03:43:28 AM »
Just got in from fishing the back side of ocean county. Unreal amount of bait in the water. Brought one 30ish inch bass to my feet before it spit the hook which is fine by me since it was going to get released anyway. Couple other bumps and missed hits. All action was on a small white yo-zuri mag minnow. Couldn't get a hit on anything else. Bait dispersed and action died when the tide slacked out.

Even at 2am on a early Tuesday morning the yahoo boaters were out and putting a damper on my serenity

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Warm, but I was thinking that all the rain yesterday either dropped the temp a couple degrees or got the bait flushed out of the shallow creeks and moving around

Dropped three solid fish tonight and had at least twice as many missed hits. Kind of frustrating. I'm not meat fishing, but i at least like to catch a glimpse.  At least one was a decent size blue going by the teeth marks on the belly of the plug (horseshoe shaped bite is about 4" wide).  All on a small black/chrome bomber. Beautiful night to be out.  Nice breeze, no humidity, no bugs, no late night crazy boaters.

It's nice to fish alone Sometimes and just enjoy the moment

I agree. I hardly fish bait but a lot of my fishing buddies are bait and wait types. It's hard to stay mobile fishing bait

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
