ScrappyCat Sea Girt Reef trip Sunday
« on: September 03, 2012, 08:52:50 PM »
Whats up guys, I'm Big Joe.  I finally decided to post on here after following the forum for a few years.

Ran out of Hoffmans Marina on Scrappy Cat, a trick 30' GlacierBay Cat.  Heard of YFT on Shark Inlet Reef, wanted to run there but the 3-5 swell kept us only runnin 12-14kts so we decided to stay nearshore on the Sea Girt.  Beautiful day, caught a few keeper fluke, bunch of shorties, plenty of skate, Sea Robs & Dogfish.  Did plenty of catching, but only a little meat in the box.  The only thing that could have made the day better would have been a BFT jumping all by itself into our stbd fish box & shutting the lid behind itself.  Any day on the water is a terrific day.  Sounds like a bunch if you boys on 65 had a nice amount of keeper fluke, great job.

Tight lines; heres to no hurricanes & a phenominal BFT run this fall.

Welcome! Haven't heard of a YFT on the Shark River Reef in about a week or so now - unless the PB's have stopped reporting them.

Fred, fishing the "Kristy Marie" from Manasquan River Club. Channels 16/67/68.

A pretty reliable friend of ours said he left the YFT there saturday on a bluefish charter (but we all know how fishermen talk  ;))

Nice to see ya around Joe!

Scrappy Cat is one sick ride!  I had the pleasure of hopping aboard at the dock a few weeks back.  A true fishing machine!
