Capt Don jr, Blake and I put the Viking gear one this morning and made a slow trek across SHB to AHM for a fill of pnutz. We added to the dozen clam and greenies to see what we could scratch out of some real cruddy conditions with that honking NW. Made the turn to hug the beach near the false hook drifting with nothing to show. Motored to the reef and drooped the pin on some scratch. Lines in and Blake is jacking up the CBs on clam and squid. Don gets his mojo going on the clam too. I opted for the green and got assaulted with a hard thump and a nose dive. Got that confident its my 1st tog of the day swag going on. Not disappointed. A nice knuckler. We had 45 mins of quick and steady action then it died off to a pick. We wiggled a couple of times with pick results along with some spikes Pull the anchor and drifted deeper water with similar action. A couple short fluke in the mix.
Called it a day at 1:15. Finished with one keep weakie, 8 nice biscuits to keep and fair amount of shorts. Wasn't a blow out on the fish front but we've had better. Overall, not bad for the conditions.
Thanks D and DP for the down lights and good fishing with you Blake!
