Columbus Day off Sandy Hook
« on: October 09, 2012, 10:19:51 AM »
Got out yesterday to take advantage of the weather and my day off.  Headed out to the Scotland grounds again for another stab at seabass.   Bounced around looking for life, nada.   Made the run back in closer to the fleets right off the hook.   Anchored up and it was non stop action.  Unfortunately all short porgy.  I swear I caught 30 fish and every one of them was 8".    After playing C&R I ran back inside and drifted the channel for nada.  Made the run back towards ammo pier to see if any weakfish were still around.  Nope.   Called it a day and ran back in glass like conditions.  Beautiful day on the water, just wish the fish would have cooperated.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.
