Matt mentioned the SLOSH models in case you are not familiar with this term it stands for "Sea, Lake, and Overland Surges from Hurricanes" .

This model only helps in decision making like what roads to keep open and which ones to close.  What shelters to open and which ones to keep closed.  Not all shelters will open for some very specific flooding reasons.

If you have any questions on shelters please ask as all most every county has a list on line for you to check.

Be Safe

As of 4pm today Union Beach has issued a mandatory evacuation, They have also issued a curfew for all children under 18 to be off the streets by 8 am. There is a shelter set up at Memorial School on Morningside Ave should anyone in the area need it, Pets are welcome here as long as you have a carrier or crate for them, they ask that you bring food and water and personal hygiene products.
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

I can see Rod in the Phyllis Ann going up the crest of this wave "C'MON, YOU B*#$H!"

From a NOAA Buoy southeast of the storm.

Yikes! nosmly

Here in Lacey we have a mandatory evacuation order for anyone within 1000' of the water.  We are not that close (maybe 2000'), so we are not required to leave.  But we are planning to leave in the morning to go to my brother-in-law's house in Jackson to hunker down. ;D

Same here in Branchburg.  Winds are light yet power still went down for a bit.  We lose power if two people sneeze at once around here.

We just had a tree come down in the back yard and split the yard in 2.  The hot tub is a goner though.

Everyone is okay here just a little shaken up.  We moved my daughters room down to the basement as her room is on the side of the house where all the trees are.

the speed is a good thing as it will be here and gone and the start of picking up the pieces.

Its a good thing that we put the kayaks in the garage as one of the limbs took out the dog run where they were being stored.
