You can go to this link, find you power company . Then you will find you county and town to see how many customers are going to have power back on each day.

Without info regarding what date your residence falls into, their spreadsheets are useless.  They obviously know what addresses will be restored when, since their numbers are specific as apposed to round figures.  So they should be able to tell people if they can expect to be restored tomorrow or in a week.  At some point people have to make the choice to stick it out or cut and run. 
The best way to prevent rumors is the accurate and timely dissemination of information.
