Pilot-Blackfish season wrap 12/20/12
« on: December 21, 2012, 10:24:32 AM »
Capt Crazy, Capt Don jr. and a guest appearance by Skunk for the season finale.   Great crew making the run to the rocky grounds.  Dropped the marker on a spot.   Got side tracked by a cargo load coming with a full head steam before setting the spike.  Waited for him to pass so of course we were well off our intended drop line.  Bottom was way to good looking to pass up, so, tightened up right where we were and then the festivities began.    A fairly steady beat down for the first 45 with 9 in the pokey,  Score tied with three apiece Capt D, Skunk and myself.   Capt Crazy rubbing his hands trying to get some warmth to the extremities looked like a cave man trying to start a fire.    He fixed that right quick with some pancake breakfast syrup hhppy courtesy of the Royal Crown.    Don jr goes into the stealth mode and as predicted amps up his game dumping bodies into the tub with a few neck slices that would have questioned O.J.s capabilities.   Skunk is pounding the grounds with light tackle Rogue fishing 4oz and delivering the goods.    I finally have a day that gets the wheels back on track.   Capt Crazy is back at the rail and delivers a nice 5# female and is happy to retire for the day enjoying a mix of classic rock, a tastee sub, a beverage and then a nap.

By noon, the bite turned to a pick before it just about shut down for us.  Gave it another hour and a half before heading to the barn for the clean up and clean out for the winter wrap.

Finished the day with 18 nice fish putting a nice bow on the season.

Lest I forget, Hats off to all the guys I've fished with the season on the ZO!  Capt. Don jr, Capt Crazy, T-Bone, Kooz, DP, Skunk, Nickshaw and his buds, Bizzle,  Brother Jay, John and his family, Trash talker, sister Striper Queen, Paulie, Pete, Pop O'Byrne, Lt Willy and his brother John, the boys from work and even Capt Carl.  Sure that I missed a few.

Wishing everyone on NJSWF a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We had one hell of a year on the ZO. Jeff, thanks for everything.  It doesn't get any better than a ZO fishing trip. Merry Christmas to you and the crew. Tbone  chrz

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

Good job Jeff and crew. You guys had a good season. Such a shame when it winds down. Not bad when you can keep at em until past mid December though.  t^

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
