Somerset Saltwater Fishing Show 3/15/13
« on: March 15, 2013, 10:07:32 PM »
I had a great time at the Saltwater Show today. There is certainly no shortage of great fishing gear available to us.

I met up with a lot of our NJ Saltwater Fisherman members - HotRod, Capt. Joe, Kenny, Dan (Reel McCoy), Tom (Broken One), Jeff (Pilot), Paul (PED579), Bob (Fluke-U), Eddie (Naked Eddie) and AJ (Peggy Lee), Scott (bowguide) and Capt. Rich.

I got to speak with a ton of vendors, sponsors and supporters, and some possible future sponsors and supporters.  I was also fortunate to meet a few celebrities including:  Tuna jigging legend, Kilsong; the current striped bass, all tackle, world record holder, Greg Myerson; and one of the all time great fishing writers, Milt Rosko.

Rod, Kenny, Dan and I met up at the diner for some burgers and cheesecake, courtesy of Hotrod.  Thanks buddy. t^

Great day! clp

I should have some videos up later.  For now, here are some stills.  Click on them to enlarge.

Thanks for the pictures Bob.  I had a good time seeing you guys.  It has been a long winter and just seeing you guys I am looking forward to the banquet even more now.

Rod we really need a booth there one year.  I would volunteer all 3 days for booth duty.

I met some really interesting guys as well that had booths there especially the American Fly Fishing Schools, run by Mike Corblis.  I have seen his trailer around but had no idea he lived in island Heights.  That is like a 1/2 mile from the house.  Mike if you get on line nice chatting with you.

Tom Lynch, was another.  He takes some pretty greats shots, (but I think mine ares till butter buddy).  Looking forward to seeing you on the beach this year.

Again, it was awesome seeing everyone today.

Happy Catching

Paul

Had a great time at the show on Friday and managed to leave with some cash in my pocket.  Picked up a few jigs, lures and a bunker spoon; I was able to resist temptation and not buy any of the great reels and rods I am now convinced I need to add to my collection.  Great meeting all the members and our sponsors at the show t^
Had a good time at dinner, thank Rod t^  I am still kicking myself for getting getting a piece of that cheesecake.
