Lady in NJ looking for fishing companions
« on: April 21, 2013, 11:54:32 PM »
Hello Nj fishing friends!

I hope we have a good season this year.

How do you think Weakfish will do this year?

I always enjoyed the taste of this fish. I just haven't seen them around like I did in the past.

Welcome to the site.

With only being able to keep one weakfish a day there aren't many willing to target them exclusively. Most will be a by-catch while fishing for another species.

Best of luck with your fishing/catching this season and again, welcome to the site.  t^

I feel the same as Irish Ayes Joe, I do not specifically target them because of the quota but I do catch them "usually shorts" while using small metal jigs targeting other species in August/September in the Sandy Hook/Raritan bay area. t^[/list]

Don't know where you are, but sheeps head creek off seven bridges road in tuckerton used to be one of "the" places to go when targeting them.

Scotts bait and tackle would be the ones to watch for activity in great bay.
