I have a new rod and need a reel, what are your thoughts?

I would buy the best you can afford..  you have a great rod. why not put a great reel on it.

Yea but I might use it once a year if I'm lucky. That's the only thing that bothers me. 

Simple, give me the rod Ill put a reel on it and let you borrow it once a year

OK get a reel and I will let you use it with the rod anytime you want as long as I don't need it that day.
