Opening day of Fluke 5/18

We hauled the boat up North today and headed out of Leonardo. Shot to the outside and found pods of bunker so snagged a few and livelined for a while. The fishfinder screen was lit up with fish but could not find a bite. Converted over to our original target of fluke and started picking at them right away. Landed a few keepers and @ a dozen shorts. A couple bluefish and skates mixed in for the day and headed for the barn. Arrived at the dock to be greeted by two conservation officers checking for fish. Our officer was pretty cool. He asked us to show him the fish and measure the smallest one for him, a nice 18 incher we put on the cooler lid to measure. A good day out with friends and a few early fish for the table tonight.

Nice to know the The Boys In Green are earning their keep sounds like a good day all around! Was the ramp crowded? slt

Wasn't too bad going in. Had to wait a bit getting out and there were a lot more trailers there when we returned

Nice!  t^ Glad the guy at the dock was decent too!  ;D Anytime I have been around them they have always been nice to me. Hey, if we follow the rules and do the right thing, it usually pays off right! Good luck this season! Looking forward to yours and everyone else's reports! Tight Lines for 2013!!
