Pops Soul Hookie Report
« on: May 31, 2013, 09:15:17 PM »
Cath and I played Hookie from work today to take advandage of the weather. ;D We stuck to our plans and went Flukin but kept a close eye on the bunker schools watching for activity from below. thd We started our drifts at Long Branch, with a water temp of 59 degress in about 40 ft of water. The bite started with  the first drop with short C bass providing some action. I was bucktailing and Cath dragging Bait. Then I got a surprise with a 17 inch Fat WINTER Flounder after a quick picture was released  :P Some short fluke filled the gaps of the C bass, Cath boated a decent Ling it was a slow day for her with the bait,we also had a couple Skates and a Sea Robin. I managed to box two Fluke at 18 inchs  on the white gulp teaser. We headed for the inlet around 2:30 with a SE swell building. Anyone  looking to fish the rivers the water is Gin Clear and according to my fish finder I was seeing bottom in 11 ft of water. Air on the ocean side was nice and cool and a great day to play Hookie from work TT^

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
