Hunter 2 Raritan Bay 6-9-13
« on: June 10, 2013, 06:20:14 AM »
After a late night BBQ  :P  and some morning boat maintenance we pulled out of Keyport to  chocolate milk brown bay with scattered with driftwood from the Raritan river. Our plan was to scout out some areas in the back to see if any Stripers were migrating south after the spawn.  We tried some spots but the water clarity was too bad.
Plan B went into effect and Fluking the middle bay during the outgoing produced 3 Keepers and 1 short.
Back to the Marina at 1:30 to spend the day poolside with the family and a  cold one. chrz
                  Good Luck,   Eddie t^

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

slt Agreed brown mucky water with HUGE pieces of drift wood.  >:( If you weren't really careful, you'd hit them for sure.  thud Some were clearly there and others were just top/bottom side up sticking just a lil outta the water. Definitely had to take it slow.... Great that you ended up with 3.  clp t^ Hope you enjoyed the rest of your afternoon with the fam. It really was a beautiful day with that light wind!

The Bay is gonna be bad Saturday with all this rain.   Prob dark brown water. I fished last evening 6pm to 8:30 without a nibble.

Didn't think about the effect of the coming rain...looks like a purple jig and teaser day unless we end up outside...

If your looking for larger fish, the outside is where you want to be. At least by the Ambros or Scotland grounds.  Good Luck t^
