Peanut Bunker in the Lagoons
« on: June 29, 2013, 04:11:57 PM »
first time this season the peanut bunker are back in my lagoon.  At the moment they are around 2".  In another week or so, they will be the perfect size fluke bait, or should I say, fluke candy.

I netted about 50 yesterday and just throw them back to see what the splashes were.  Thats a great sign.  Free bait.. lol

Sweet, thats what I've been waiting for. Saw a couple stirs in front of the slip last weekend and was hoping thats what it was. Cast net will have to come aboard now.

at first I thought those swirls were Killies or spearing.  I decided to just through the net out of curiosity and sure enough, peanut bunker.  There were really small though, the size of medium killies.  I would like them a little larger for the ocean fluking, but they are the perfect size for bay fluking.

Love those peanuts for Fluke . A cast net should be part of everyone's fishing arsenal.
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

The only problem down here, I can't find the large bunker to net like I did when I was in Atlantic Highlands.  I wish they came into the lagoons.. lol..
