Irish Ayes Fluking 8/7/13
« on: August 08, 2013, 03:11:01 PM »
It's been a long time, but I finally got to get out fishing with my good friend, Capt. Joe yesterday.  As an added bonus, I also got to fish with my friend Bob G as well. t^  Joining us were Jim and Lenny.

We left Shark River and headed north in a steady one to two foot chop and SE wind which lasted all day.  Threats of rain and thunderstorms might have put a damper on our plans, but we were fortunate to not see either while we were out there.  The breeze and the cloud cover actually made for a very comfortable summer day on the water.

The action was excellent.  A lot of fluke came over the gunwales, either by jigging with Gulp or dragging real bait.  They really didn't show a preference.  Naturally, as is always the case, many were short.  However, by the end of the day, we did manage to secure eight keepers and one sea bass for dinner.

For me it was a great trip, and one I hope to do again before another year goes by. ;D

Thanks for having me aboard Joe! t^

I would have put deck chairs on the boat but I wanted to catch fish.   ;D

Good to have you on board Bob. I have a spot for you next Wednesday as well.  t^

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Good report Bob , we don't see many reports from Joe unless there is a fellow member or board the Irish Ayes to do the writing. After I'm guessing 5 years of retirement now, Joe has even retired from writing those Reel screaming reports.  ;D  t^
